Our Vision & Goals

A collaborative project for Schleswig-Holstein's educational landscape

Maker Faire Lübeck 2027 is a non-profit, volunteer-organized educational and creative festival for science, technology, art, and DIY culture. Initiated by FabLab Lübeck e.V., we do not pursue any commercial interests.

Craft Meets High-Tech

We bridge the gap between traditional handiwork (sawing, filing, soldering) and digitization (3D printing, laser cutting, microcontrollers).

Low-Threshold & Free STEM Education

Thanks to regional foundations, all workshop offers are completely free of charge. This guarantees equal access to future-oriented technologies for kids from all income backgrounds.

Fostering "4Cs" Future Skills

We playfully train **Creativity**, **Critical thinking**, **Collaboration**, and **Communication** through open challenges.

Trial & Error and Self-Efficacy

Trying, failing, and adapting at our hands-on stations teaches a deep sense of self-efficacy: "I can shape and repair my environment myself, instead of just consuming."

A Strong Regional Network

This festival is a true collaborative network. We work closely with local educational institutions such as the **Junior Campus Lübeck** and the **Digital Learning Campus SH (DLC)**.

Chaotikum e.V. (Lecture program curation)
Offener Kanal Lübeck (Mobile Live-Studio)

Global Maker Licence

Through official licensing and media partnership with **Heise Group** (Make:, c't, heise online), the event enjoys a wide overregional reach and links into a worldwide network.

Hands-on Workshops & Stamp Card

Gamification for young explorers on the 2nd floor of the MuK

Gamification Highlight

The Hands-on Stamp Card

Every child receives a stamp card with 8 slots upon entry. After successfully participating in a workshop, the workshop leader signs off on the corresponding slot. **After completing just 3 workshops** (e.g. 1x technology, 1x textile, 1x ecology), children can swap their card at the central FabLab booth in the rotunda for a small, **live-made reward** (such as a laser-engraved wooden "Junior Maker 2027" badge customized with their own name)!

1

Electronics & Soldering

Organized by: FabLab Team

The absolute classic. Under patient guidance, children and teenagers solder their first electronic circuits (e.g., the official blinking Makey badge).

Technology

7 further workshops planned

We are currently preparing 7 additional free hands-on workshops (covering coding, textile crafts, 3D printing, ecology, and more). Detailed information will follow soon!
